Bluddy hell! Where the hell did October go?! November is a great month though; Bonfire Night, Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Day (not that that’s great, but it’s nice to commemorate and raise awareness), my birthday…
As I’m writing this, the fireworks in my area are going crazy, so hopefully this week’s post will give you a few ideas to get your weekend off with a bang!
This stunning, sometimes thought provoking, and more often than not disturbing collection of photographs is a collection of photographs from award-winning press photographers. This 143 photo strong exhibition is from World Press Photo, and is an annual competition – it’s a story of worldwide events, some of which convey some pretty powerful stories. To the familiar sounds of fireworks night, with Hackney Fireworks Pyromusical; basically fireworks set to music. But, there will also be stilt-walkers, fire-walkers, and aerial artists – also throw in to the mix food and drink stalls. This is actually the first public fireworks display in Hackney in over a decade. It is a ticketed event, so to purchase some click here.
Don’t be sad that summer is over, Night Tales is back again to fill our winter nights with delights to quench your first, stave off hunger, and to bring sounds to your ears. A 10,000 square foot tent encompasses all of these delights, to name a few of the wonderful people that will be there: Patty & Bun, Pitt Cue, and Morty and Bob’s. So much yes, we’ll be seeing you there guys! To find out more, click here.
Oh, and of course make sure you go and see the poppies at Tower Hill before it closes on Tuesday – it’s absolutely magnificent at any time of the day.
